Dr Leonore Botha is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with a passion for Sports Medicine. She obtained her Medical Degree (MBChB) from the University of Pretoria in 2006 and went on to do her internship at Johannesburg General Hospital in 2007 and Steve Biko Hospital in 2008.
Dr Botha completed her Community Service Training in 2009 at 1 Military Hospital, Pretoria. She then qualified as an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor through the Academy of Advanced Life Support. In 2014, the doctor completed her studies in orthopaedic surgery and started her career as an orthopaedic surgeon. In 2014, Dr Botha worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at 1 Military Hospital and later became Head of Sports Medicine at the hospital as well. Additionally, Dr Botha obtained a Fellowship in Surgery of the Knee with Dr Daan du Plessis and a Fellowship in sports medicine and hip arthroscopy with Dr Jesse De Lee, the author of DeLee, Drez and Miller's Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
With a keen interest in Sports Medicine, Dr Botha opened her private practice at Life Groenkloof Hospital and Life Faerie Glen Hospital in Pretoria. Dr Botha offers specialised arthroscopic shoulder, hip and knee surgery as well as treatment for upper and lower limb conditions.
